Squid Game is a Korean drama series. This series managed to steal attention in 83 countries with an overall score of 562. The storyline is very relevant to today's life, namely telling stories about people who are experiencing economic difficulties. However, they are always waiting for a glimmer of hope that can change their lives.
From these nine episodes, there are many meanings in life that we can learn, including the following.
1. The importance of learning financial management
Managing finances is very important in life. We must be able to distinguish between needs and wants. Sometimes we often ignore it until it eventually becomes a bad habit. Dig a hole, close the hole. This proverb has no meaning anymore. Closing debt with debt is commonplace. Try to be wiser in financial management!
2. Money does not guarantee happiness
At the end of the story, it has been explained that no matter how much money one has, it does not guarantee that one's life will be happy, even life will feel boring. Everything can be bought with money. No more effort to get something, makes us appreciate it less. Try to appreciate everything not in terms of nominal value, but sincerity!
3. Don't make decisions when you're emotional
In making a decision, it is necessary to think about the impact in the future so that you don't regret it in the end because time cannot be turned back. Decisions must be taken with a cool head without emotion so that they are able to think about the various risks that will arise. Decisions made when you are emotional are not the best decisions.
4. Be kind to others
Don't be afraid to do good to others because we never know how the next life will be. The wheels will always turn. Sometimes above, sometimes below. Spread goodness to anyone selflessly because of the goodness we plant, we will surely reap the results.
That is the moral message that we can learn from Squid Game, a series directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Hopefully we don't become dark human beings by judging things only with money.
